Knowing President Trump as we do, it has to be related to a donation, and a giant one, by Tiger Woods to Trump’s campaign for President. That seemed to buy Tiger Woods access. But what does Trump get other than Tiger’s money? The POTUS gets to play golf with the World’s Greatest Golfer. But in fairness, Trump’s done that for some time, both as POTUS and as a private citizen. And Trump’s Trump Company has partnered with Tiger Woods’ design firm, TGR Design and and DAMAC Properties to design and develop the Trump World Golf Club Dubai, a 18-hole championship course within the AKOYA Oxygen community in Dubai. But now that Trump is POTUS again, where does he go with these galf business relationships? Apparently to seek new golf deals. A deal between the PGA Tour and the Saudi-funded LIV league would directly benefit the US president’s family business says Mohamad Bazzi in The Guardian UK. Mohamad Bazzi reports that “The US president found time to try to broker an agreement between two rival golf tournaments, the US-based PGA Tour and the LIV Golf league, funded by Saudi Arabia. If concluded, the deal would directly benefit Trump’s family business, which owns and manages golf courses around the world. And that helps his business relationship with Tiger Woods. Mohamad Bazzi continues “On 20 February, Trump hosted a meeting at the White House between Jay Monahan, the PGA Tour commissioner, and Yasir al-Rumayyan, chair of LIV Golf and head of Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, along with the golf star Tiger Woods. It was the second meeting convened by Trump at the White House this month with PGA Tour officials involved in negotiating with the Saudi wealth fund. A day before his latest attempt at high-level golf diplomacy, Trump travelled to Miami to speak at a conference organized by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, which is managed by Al-Rumayyan but ultimately controlled by the kingdom’s de facto ruler and crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman.”But where does Vanessa Trump fit in all of this golf business? Well, Vanessa Trump’s son, Kai, is an aspiring golfer who knows Woods and his children. Tiger Woods has two children, who attend the same private school as Vanessa Trump’s kids. Vanessa Trump was married to Don Jr. from 2005-18. The couple has five children together. So, the connection between Tiger Woods and Vanessa Trump appears to be a shared love for golf.
